This is a massive re-imagining of the park we all know and love, Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Ever since production stopped at the studio, the park has been in dire need of a new theme. The new theme is celebrating the movies rather than being at a real production studio. The park will now be divided into lands like most theme parks. This massive refurbishment of the park will be finished by 2018, and will include a total of 16 new attractions including 3 new e-tickets.

The eight lands of the park are Hollywood Boulevard, LucasLand, Muppet Studios, Production Central, Pixar Place, Disney Studios, Mickey Avenue, and Sunset Boulevard. LucasLand is where all the Indiana Jones and Star Wars films collide into one area of action and adventure. Muppet Studios is the most interactive land in theme park history whether it’s attending a live show of the Muppets, helping to paint the theater or experimenting Muppet Labs‘ newest inventions there is nothing else like it because Muppet Studios pushes the limit in theme park interactivity. Production Central is where you hop on the backlot tram to tour the park or where you can roam a recreation of a backlot. The newly expanded Pixar Place gives you the ability you can step inside the realms of your favorite Pixar films. Disney Studios is where you can experience the epic adventures in person from Disney’s live-action films such as TRON and Pirates of The Carribean. Mickey Avenue is where you visit the world of Mickey’s first black and white cartoons. Sunset Boulevard and Hollywood Boulevard are essentially the same as before.

3. Muppet Mobile Labs - Meet scientists Bunsen and Beaker in the streets as they test out their newest invention. NEW!

a. Smorgesborg - Dine at the greatest Muppet cuisine and meet some of your favorite characters. NEW!


Production Central:
1. Streets of America - Roam a recreation of a backlot city

2. The Backlot Tour - Get on a tram and go around the park

Pixar Place:

1. Toy Story Midway Mania - Join your favorite “Toy Story” characters in a 4D midway-style game-playing adventure. FP
2. Paradise Falls - Board your furniture and soar with the characters from “UP” NEW!
3. The Door Vaulter - The company has a human open house and they invite you tour their door vault, but when things go wrong you’re in for a fast-paced journey thru the monster world! NEW! FP

Mickey Avenue:

Sunset Boulevard:

3. The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror - Drop 13 stories at random, into another dimension. FP

Construction will break ground in 2014 with all the current lands closing in phases, so during the 4 years of the construction for the massive re-do many rides will be closed. Rides that will be open throughout all phases of construction include: The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, Toy Story Midway Mania, The Great Movie Ride, and Rock ‘n‘ Roller-coaster Starring Aerosmith. The only lands that will not be closed to the public during construction are Hollywood Boulevard, Sunset Boulevard, and Pixar Place. The reason why Pixar Place is staying open is because the expansion pad is entirely behind the current location so we will not need to close it down.
When finished it will be the biggest refurbishment in history, even bigger than Disney California Adventure’s in 2012, because they opened all their new attractions in phases but we’re doing it differently. We’re closing all our attractions in phases, and the unveiling them all together in one day which will be on the 2018 “World Premiere” Grand Re-Opening of Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The closing phases in order will be Streets of America, Echo Lake, and Animation Courtyard
